Fall is one of the best times to go camping with your family. The weather is just so nice for doing fun activities away from your campground during the day and is quite comfortable during the nighttime for hanging around the campfire and family bonding. It’s not too hot and it’s not too cold, meaning you can do everything you’d like without having to be pressed because of the weather.
You don’t want to be stuck in your cabins all day, so make sure to create a list of activities to do while on vacation. But what if you don’t know where to start? No worries, we have created some ideas for you.
- A scavenger hunt
There are so many places to see when it comes to camping, so make sure to take advantage of that! Get out with the family and have a scavenger hunt to really explore your surroundings. Do some research beforehand about what to expect in the specific environment you’ll be in, but some of our recommendations include a pinecone, a purple flower, a piece of trash ( to recycle! ), a unique rock, some moss, a picture of an animal track, and a four-leaf-clover. The first one who gets everything on their list will be able to choose what’s for dinner! - Stargazing
One of the best things about fall is that the night isn’t too cold so you have to stay wrapped up in blankets the whole time. So get outside and go look at the stars, without the lights of your suburb or city, there will be more to see! You can either print a map of what to look for before you go, or download a stargazing app that will help show you different constellations. - Create a fun dinner
There are plenty of ways to get your family more involved with what you eat. Set up easy to make — and eat!– food stations, like make your own pizza, nachos, and pasta. Each person can customize their own meal from the comfort of their own cabins!
Just try out these fun ideas and you’ll have a great vacation to come filled with good food, good laughs, and great memories.
